Petition: The=
re is a petition circulating among Michaywe property owners which proposes =
that the annual dues cap be reduced to $300 per property unit and that our =
golf course and restaurant be leased to a third party with a whopping $350,=
000 subsidy from MOA.
Worksho=
p: On Saturday March 6th at 9:00am at the Clubhouse, Mr. Michael Buc=
kley will be conducting a financial workshop for MOA Members showing that t=
he petition has no basis in fact or merit.
Financial Results: At the MOA Board Meeting held on Fe=
bruary 20, 2010, Director Michael Buckley made a presentation outlining the=
financial impact of allowing a third party to lease and operate our golf c=
ourse under different scenarios. Mr. Buckley's presentation was developed u=
sing audited financial statements and official financial reports issued by =
MOA.
Positive Cash: La=
st year was a year of nationwide economic struggles and disappointing sales=
. Even in these hard times, Michaywe ended the year in a positive cash posi=
tion.
Move Forward: In=
closing, the financial position of MOA has steadily improved during the pa=
st two years and is expected to be even better in 2010. We would like to th=
ank the MOA Administration and Staff for having been diligent in their mana=
gement of Michaywe during these difficult economic times and in spite of th=
e contentious attitude that sometimes prevails in the Michaywe community. |
